There are 3 stages of buyers journey

The Awareness Stage

The Consideration Stage
The Decision stage

 

To getting customers online, First give before you receive

In each stages of the buyers journey
The idea is to provide value upfront to your potential customers

 

1). The Awareness Stage
Is the point where the customer is trying to define what their problem is,  creating content that helps potential customers define their problem eg 21 mistake, 5 reasons etc. Educative content basically, they’re resources that will help people understand what their problem is from your content post.

 

2). The Consideration Stage
Is when the person is simply doing research, the person now know what their problem is and looking for possible solutions. At this point, write content that will provides possible solutions, that will make the customer feel that the service provider is a trusted authority and able to help them, but at this point they’re still not thinking of buying, they’re basically trying to get possible solution.

 

3). The Decision Stage
Is when the person has fully define their problem, now they’re looking for a service provider. Now if you’re a service provider, create content that will compel potential customer work with you. At this point is when you’ll provide content base on; case study, testimonials, reviews from past customers, etc this are things only people in the decision stage will be interested in.
If someone is in the awareness stage and you’re showing him case study of what you did for a client In the past. The person is not necessary getting interested at that particular point in time.
So you need to meet people at the different stages of the buyers journey base on the problem you’re trying to solve at that stage and that’s how you get more customers.

Remember the kind of content could be videos, document that they can download, blog post, or via email, basically you should provide value.
What this does is is make the customer see you as a trusted authority because they’ve been able to get a lot of value from you. When they’ve gotten to the buying stage the first brand they’re going to think about is yours.
